Angie Johnson with the help of Ann Miller has found the 2018 Harvest Medallion. Miller was in her restaurant Annie’s Cafe, when she heard Johnson scream with excitement over discovering the coin’s location behind an orange safety strip on an electrical post on Chestnut Street immediately outside the diner Wednesday. The duo have found the St. Patrick's Day Medallion as well as the BBQ Days Medallion in the past.
"It's a title we like to keep," Miller said.
The Clue that gave it away this time around was that describing “complementary to blue,” Johnson said.
The clue in question was: …I hope the sky is blue. But a complementary color may find the coin for you.
“I looked it up and saw that it was orange, so we started looking for anything orange,” Johnson said.
Another clue that the pair, who typically work together on the medallion hunt deciphered was:
“If you seek to find the truth, it’s church you’ll have to join,” which described that the coin would be found near the two churches that are on Chestnut Street
But perhaps the most pointed clue was:”That little bitty harvest coin is so doggone hard to find.”which was directed at Miller’s husband whose nickname is “Dog,”which signaled to her that the coin would be near her restaurant. She voiced her belief that the clue was directed at her but was met with her husband's skepticism.
“He told me it was stupid,” Miller stated while laughing.
The other clue:“If you take the old tin-lizzie down to get some pop, you’ve probably gone too far,” referred to the fact that taking the route from RT Garage to Donuts and Deli, would mean medallion hunters had gone too far.
The Clue: “Do you know what a goat has in common with a pool?” referred to a slow children sign above the precise light post the coin was found. How did the hunters know it was a light post they should look for? The clue from week one that gave that away was: "But where does this wise man go to find his light."
