Area children were given the royal treatment Monday night during the Prince and Princess for a Day event at Litchfield High School.
The event, which kicks off Watercade week each year, gives children ages 4-8 the chance to get dolled up, play games and rub elbows with Miss Litchfield Ali Richardson, princesses Emily Schreiber and Erika Hart, and the nine candidates vying for this year’s crown.
The little princesses wore sparkling crowns atop their coifs and the little princes donned sailor hats. After decorating sashes with their names and colorful designs, the children attended a “royal introduction” in the Little Theater, where parents cheered and took pictures.
Watercade events continue today (Thursday) with a brat feed at Center National Bank and ice cream in Litchfield Central Park.
