Since being crowned as the new Watercade royalty on July 12, queen Karly Nelson and princesses Kaitlynn Beighley and Autumn Raiber have been busy representing Litchfield at several surrounding communities.
They began their reign by volunteering as art assistants at Kids of the Kingdom, had on-air interviews with the radio station KLFD, and attended Sparkle Night at Target Field for a Minnesota Twins game.
The royalty have visited communities as near as Darwin and Grove City, and as far as Jordan, Glenwood and Northfield, where they watched the Defeat of Jesse James Days Reenactment.
Coming up this winter season, the royalty plans to participate in Cambridge’s Lighted Snowflake Parade, Winsted Winter Festival Lighted Parade, St. Paul Winter Carnival’s King Boreas’ Grande Day Parade, Salvation Army Bell-Ringing, Wintercade’s fishing contest on Lake Ripley, volunteering at Feed My Starving Children and holiday reading at Litchfield schools.
