2016 Litchfield Watercade Parade Route

The Watercade Grand Day Parade will kick off 6 p.m. Saturday, July 9, and will run on the original route.

The route takes advantage of large open spaces that will provide good spectator seating, including two sides of Central Park, a large open area at the former site of St. Philip’s Catholic Church at the corner of Third Street and Holcombe Avenue, and open areas by Wagner Elementary School on Armstrong Avenue.

Parade units will line up along the north side of East 10th Street. The parade will begin at Sibley Avenue and 10th Street, proceed south on Sibley Avenue to Third Street, turn east on Third Street to Armstrong Avenue, then turn north on Armstrong Avenue and end at 10th Street.

During the parade, the Litchfield High School marching band will perform its show, “Pirates,” which tells the story of pirates sailing the high seas searching for buried treasure. The Grand Day Parade will be the last parade of the year for the Marching Dragons. Middle school students will also march in the Grand Day Parade.
