Low scores were in fashion at the Watercade couples golf scramble Sunday at Litchfield Golf Club.
The team of Kary and Steph Sommerfeld, and Greg and Stacy Vilt were bogey free on the back nine in the nine-hole tournament to shoot a four-under-par 31. For their troubles, they earned first place out of eight and $140.
The team of Nick and Tracy Gabrielson and Jamie and Teresa Strowbridge took second place with a 32. They were the only team to have two ‘twos’ on the scorecard, including an eagle on No. 12. All eight teams made at least one birdie and seven of eight were at par or better.
Dave and Tana Goihl and Kevin Goihl and Amie McGraw also shot the magic number of four-under 31 to cash in and place first out of 10. They were bogey-free and made two birdies in a row on No. 8 and No. 9 to vault team Carlson (John and Jo, and Wayne and Linda) by one stroke.
A $70 prize went to second place teams.
Event organizers were Lyle Diekmann, Dez Paul and Gabby Johnson.
