A full slate of activites is scheduled for Watercade week in Litchfield, Monday, July 8, to Sunday, July 14.
The town is also celebrating its 150th anniversary, and to mark the occasion a special presentation of “Litchfield is Our Home,” a historical musical, will be performed twice at the Opera House.
If musical theater doesn’t interest you, there’s the medallion hunt, a brat feed, tennis tournament, fishing contest and much more throughout the week.

Monday, July 8
10 a.m. Medallion hunt begins.
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Open house celebrating business at the Litchfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
5:30-7 p.m. Prince and princess event in the Litchfield High School Lobby. Registration forms are available at Community Education.
7 p.m. Meeker County Museum will host FungusAmongus Players presenting “The Man of La Mancha.”
Tuesday, July 9
2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Presentation of “Litchfield is Our Home,” a historical musical capturing the last 150 years of Litchfield at the Opera House.
Wednesday, July 10
Noon-1 p.m. Mayor’s prayer luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church
7 p.m. Agape concert in Central Park.
Thursday, July 11
4-6 p.m. Center Bank Brat Feed. Brats and music in Center Bank’s parking lot.
6 p.m. Ice Cream and Pie in the Park. Meeker County American Dairy Association will serve free ice cream in Central Park.
6-7:30 p.m. Watercade Idol in Central Park.
Friday, July 12
6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Litchfield Kiwanis Club’s pancake and sausage breakfast in Central Park.
4 p.m. Litchfield Rotary Club’s brat and hamburger feed in Ripley Memorial Park.
4:30-7:30 p.m. Lake Ripley Cemetery tours. Enter from the west. Freewill donations accepted.
4:30-6 p.m. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Sand sculpture building goes from 5-6 p.m. at Lake Ripley Beach in Memorial Park.
5 p.m. Tennis tournament at Litchfield High School tennis courts. Register online.
6-9 p.m. Beach party at Lake Ripley Beach in Memorial Park.
7 p.m. Litchfield Blues Alumni Night. Blues vs Loretto Larks at Optimist Park.
9-11:30 p.m. Street dance at Lake Ripley. Music will break for fireworks and resume after.
10 p.m. Fireworks at Lake Ripley Memorial Park.
Saturday, July 13
8 a.m. Fishing contest at West Ripley Park. 40 boat limit. Registration starts at 6:15 a.m.
7:30 a.m. Lake Ripley Four-Mile Run at Ripley Memorial Park. Registration is from 6:30 until 7:15 a.m.
8:30 a.m. Kids’ One-Mile Run. Registration is from 6:30 until 8:15 a.m.
8 a.m. Tennis tournament at Litchfield High School courts.
8 a.m. Eighth annual Litchfield Fire Department softball tournament at VFW fields.
9 a.m. Bike ride from Jaycees shelter/Lake Ripley. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
9 a.m.-4 p.m. Art in the Park at Central Park in downtown Litchfield.
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Litchfield Rescue Squad beef feed at Central Park.
10:30 a.m. Kiddie parade at City Hall’s east parking lot.
11 a.m.-noon Teddy Bear Band at Central Park.
1:30 p.m. Lip sync contest at Central Park. All ages. Registration forms are available at Litchfield Community Education.
6 p.m. Grand Day Parade.
8:30 p.m. Watercade Street Dance featuring Maiden Dixie and Mitch Gordon & the Unleaded Band at Meeker County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the gate. Get home safe using Joyride. Joyride tickets are 2 for $5.
Sunday, July 14

11 a.m. Four-person couples golf scramble at Litchfield Golf Course.
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Watercade bike dig at Lake Ripley beach in Memorial Park.
1 p.m. Little Crow Ski Team at Lake Ripley beach in Memorial Park.

4:30-6 p.m. Royalty banquet at Opera House
7 p.m. Queen Coronation at Bernie Aaker Auditorium. Admission is $5.
