2017 Rosemount Leprechaun Days Medallion Hunt 2

Submitted by Administrator on

The Leprechaun’s Lost Medallion has gone missing.

The medallion has either been found by someone and the hunter has not called to report it, or Mother Nature has played a trick on us and the medallion was washed away by the recent storm.

I searched the area where the medallion was hidden and it was not found despite being what I thought it being well secured. I checked for it on Tuesday but since there were other hunters around, I did not do a thorough enough job so as not to arouse suspicion, and did not discover that it was missing. I feel horrible about it, and apologize for having people go through the hard work to find it despite it most likely not being where it was supposed to be.

In order to be fair to all participants a new medallion has been hidden in a different location in a different Rosemount park and the hunt will start again with Clue No. 1 today, which will read more like a second or third clue with several hints hidden inside.

I contemplated hiding a second medallion in the original position, allowing people to look with the existing clues, but that would assume no one would have looked in the spot and found it on day one, two or three. That would not have been fair to the people who figured it out early on.

Again, I am sorry for ruining the fun of the first hunt. Please accept my apologies.

It’s been a long, winding road to here.
Our disc needs shelter, flat terrain near.
We’ll post when it’s found.
Irish luck all ’round.
Don’t waste time on the playground, my dear.

Play lots of Eire’s sports in the park.
Hurling, fencing, rugby for a lark.
At the end of one,
you will have to run
to the grassy edge to find my bark.
