Mapquest says this is in Ramsey County, but I'm not real sure.
There was an 18 minute time lapse, and suddenly I'm doing surreptitious surveillance.

I was walking a few trails early in the morning, looking for a good spot to place a new cache. The area where I was wandering seemed like it had potential, but nothing really special was appearing. I guess I was consciously avoiding it, and eventually I felt myself being drawnto a HUGE tower.

There was no reason to think I'd find any good spots near there. As I approached, I felt that there was definitely something different here. I noticed the swamp

right away, and walked around for another look .

It seemed like an odd location, and I got real curious when I saw the overturned barrel . Like markers, there were slabs placed
here and there .

A ruptured pipeline rose out of the ground.

When I saw the periscope , I got the hell out of there.

If you think you want to check it out, the cache is near these things.

New batteries, New Day, More light, and found cache rather quickly. We took the bingo card and left speedy the beanie baby turtle. Only saw one doe on the way this time. Still fun though and good hidding spot.

This was our first time looking for this cache. Where to start? We started at snail lake and worked our way to grass lake and scareda six point buck. We followed the grasslake pass the cache and came up from the south. On the way we passed the tree with skulls and bones on it. A half a mile later we passed a full skeleton of a six point buck. When we found the area we knew we were in the right spot, but couldn't find the cache with light fading along with batterys going. We will leave no stone unturned. This is a good holloween one, it sure scared us!

Searched the area near the mentioned item, and scared up a Buck at the coordinates listed. I followed the Buck but had no luck. There shure was a lot of fresh deer **** and fresh tracks too. Will have to give this area a little rest. I have all of the clues placed, so I was able to search today without the GPSr.
Buy the way there is a dump very near the overturned barrel and periscope. There are car parts, lots of old cans and bottles, and lots of junk. Yesterday I found a 3 foot long hand carved fork with a totem pole carvings in the handle. I have never seen so many empty champagne bottles in my life.
Thanks for the search,
Jon (jonsom)

Searched for another hour and 15 minutes near the swamp, barrel, concrete, ruptured pipe and periscope.
Will try again later,
Jon (jonsom)
After I posted I realized that there were pictures for everything, I had not looked at them before.

Today 0 for 5, but a bad day of Geocaching is better than a day at work (wait I already worked today). Spent about 1 hour searching the area, found the huge tower, the swamp, the overturned barrel, the concrete and the ruptured pipeline. Will return soon to find the periscope and cache.
Thanks,
Jon (jonsom)
