If you're looking to the sky wave bye-bye,
Although bird watching here is a big deal.
Hooligans to the north, south is yellow back & forth,
Making like A.J. never had more appeal.
Holy schnikey, I gotta find this.

Minneapolis has parks? Damn!
One of us has got to find this thing. Thanks for posting ATH
By an airport, cab stand, school, courthouse? #26?
Fort Snelling?
my first thoughts were out near the airport/moa, but there are alot of beautiful parks in mpls
Are the clues an irritation?
Cover them to get your destination.
Now that hint is worth alot.
Leave your shoes near by and look for giant bonsai,
Gold is what you've wrought.
Star Tribune?
No thanks.
:-)
Harriet Island Band Shelter
Ok, ever since reading this thread title this morning, I've had the "Golden Ticket" song from Willy Wonka in my head!
'Cause I've got a golden ticket'
Cause I've got a golden ticket
I've got a golden chance to make my way
And with a golden ticket, it's a golden day
Someone please shoot me
hehe...:~)
and when you're done shooting him, please shoot me as well. cuz the same thing happened to me. i just assumed it was from the lottery commercial when the lottery ran that game instead of willy wonka.
I was singing the same tune---
as soon as I saw the thread I said "this is gonna be good" and began singing it as I opened the thread---I have the movie on DVD ;)
My first incling was near the airport - clue 2 sounds like airport too cause of the word destination.
So, Art? Is this the one you guys worked on with the S&T?
Whoever it was ---its very clever and got my interest.
Wouldn't it be funny if it were in LORING PARK? ;)
Another big park in the Minneapple would be Powderhorn.
or the Regional park by the U of M
Rule #7 Upon finding the golden twins ticket
Up on fin ding the gold in twine
or upon = a pond
both Powderhorn and Loring have ponds
ya know, if its in the twin cities, it could actually be in saint paul...
hey a guy can always hope, right?
there must be something i'm missing cuz i don't get the loring park deal.
that said, destination could imply that its near the airport, the amtrak depot (newell anyone?), any of the old railroad passenger stations that still exist, or even a greyhound station. hmmm. so many parks. so little time.
ok there is something more in this clue
Hooligans
Mankato, MN
Irish pub flavor - Mankato style.
Who'll again? = Hooligan
Main Entry: hoo·li·gan
Etymology: perhaps from Patrick Hooligan fl1898 Irish hoodlum in Southwark, London
Date: 1898
: RUFFIAN, HOODLUM
So near an Irish Pub
well even worse --- the counties not just the cities. But I would think they would start with their own city. I really don't think it's in St Paul cause they know we have hunts here every year. So start with the hometown.
personally I am covering areas in Minneapple that I already know first--- Like Powderhorn is near Laura Ingalls Wilder school. and plains are pretty loud over there. But I personally think its closer to the airport whick would put it practically in Crosby :) hahaha
thats a lot to cover, j. what are you still doing in here now?
oh my---isnt there a WIRTH Park? hehehhe thats gotta be it---its huge...
Now that hint is worth alot
I like Loring and Wirth
Wirth though is not safe to me even though its a nice big park- women have been found dead there
Now Loring has the yellow 94 tunnel underpass and the gold? Basilica
and the theatre across the street with the giant sculptures
gold is what you wrought...... wrought iron fence perhaps?
looking to the SKY WAY
to cover irritations = Band aid
so bandshell
MEARS PARK!
hahaha I like COMO for the bird watching dedication and bonsai.
hahaha I like COMO for the bird watching dedication and bonsai.
bite your tongue, miss kitty.
WoW- I even like Minnehaha Falls Park.
There is a bandshell there
you look up from down below to wave goodbye to anyone coming or going at the parking lot.
OR near a parking lot at WIRTH
But that is one big a$$ park.
I like it cause our male cat is named Theodore :)
A.J. is A. J. Pierzynski, the catcher.
So squatting has appeal ?
A.J. is from the backstreet boys
Back St.
and I think there was one from American Idol
wasn't he the one that lost to kelly?
I figured they put a baseball thing in these clues.
Thanks Ian.
so maybe by a baseball field---that would just make sense.
but unlikely
I did notice that part of the prize wa to play the BLUE JAYS when the clue mentioned bird watching
so watching the Blue Jays and catching = maybe it is in the Metrodome behind homeplate
the movie BYE BYE BIRDIE
Badmitton - where can you play that nowadays?
Lake Harriet in Mpls. has a bandshell.

Loring has a bandshell and a sculpture garden.
My parents were married in Loring Park back in 1970 (before it got it's reputation)
I just found out today there is a Whitney bridge there. My dad died before my daughter was born...her name is Whitney...hmmmmm.
Thanks Ian, that actually is the website I am on now. looks like we are thinking alike here. I am not surprised.
Disassembly and Sportsmanship are used in the RULES. I thought odd.
what the heck would they use disassemble for? reminds me of firearms or Army.
Victory park is on UPton (sky)
and 44th (rrrrr damn 44!)
Main Entry: Au·du·bon
Pronunciation: 'o-d&-b&n, -"bän
Function: biographical name
John James 1785-1851 American (Haitian-born) artist & ornithologist; known for drawings and paintings of North American birds; produced Birds of America (1827-38), etc.
Audubon Park
Its on Prior Ave & Roblyn (Robin=bird) on the baseball field at Merriam Park ;)
Prior is used in the RULES
dismantle makes me think there are sculptures or things that should not be messed with. Armatage park looks good.
one memory I have about Mpls. parks are the wading pools. I love those. not too deep -enough to get wet on a hot day. :)
"Cover them" may be a reference to "cover your bases," stating that this thing may be near a baseball diamond. In keeping with the baseball theme.
For those like me who need help with Hennepin County parks.
Notice the Spring bird release at Lake Minnetonka Regional Park.
Hennepin Co. Parks
Theodore Wirth Park
Notice the bird sanctuary located within the park.
Went to Theo Wirth park today. Big park. Didn't look like you could get into the bird sanctuary from a car standpoint. Not sure about walking though.
AJ Pierzynski.
We're looking for fishing docks and places to go skiing.
Piers and ski.
May 1997 MPR News
The bodies of several serial murder victims have been found in Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis the past few years. The trial of a man charged with the murders is underway in Hennepin County District Court. All of the media coverage worries park supporters the public is getting the wrong message about park safety. An event Friday at Theodore Wirth is an attempt by the Park Board and residents to assure the public the parks are safe. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Olson has more.
I think it would only make sense to have a baseball field in the park where it is hidden. I don't think WIRTH has one.
What if the hidden clue is GOLDEN = Golden Valley? is that in Hennepin County?
