Anniversary of the end of WWI

World War I (The War to End All Wars) started 28 July 1914 by the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. The assassin was Gavrilo Princip, a Yugoslav nationalist. This one act created a diplomatic crisis; so long standing intertwined international alliances were called into place. Within a handful of weeks, conflict erupted and soon spread around the world.
