The Litchfield Watercade Medallion

The medallion will be hidden in the Litchfield area on public property.

This year's Watercade Medallion hunt is finished, according to Watercade Chairwoman Susan Koll. Donna Anderson found it at about noon Saturday. According to Koll, the medallion was hidden at the "Watercade shed" on West Fourth Street, near what she described as the "city shed."

Saturday's clue: West of the river and then North is right. You can almost see it if you squint up tight

Friday's clue: Noah was famous; he had an ark. This we would call the Watercade Park.

Thursday's clue: Down on the boardwalk, y’all better be skinny.

Wednesday's clue: Come and visit, load up the van. I love the sun; it shows off my tan.

Tuesday's clue: Look around, and what is seen?  Green and blue and aquamarine.

Monday's clue: The grass is green, the trees are tall. Let’s run and jump, let’s have a ball.

The lucky person who finds the medallion can claim the grand prize of $200 by presenting it to a Watercade board member.

To be eligible for the $200 grand prize, treasure hunters must have purchased a $4 Watercade button from a Miss Litchfield candidate or local business. Anyone without a button who finds the medallion will be eligible for a $100 prize.

The person who finds the medallion must present it the day it is found to a representative of the Watercade Medallion Committee, by calling Watercade Chairperson Sue Koll at 320-221-1385. The prize will be awarded during the Miss Litchfield coronation Sunday, July 12, at Bernie Aaker Auditorium in the Meeker County Family Service Center.

The medallion will be hidden in the Litchfield area on public property. Finding the medallion will not require digging, climbing, cutting, hammering or any destructive means to retrieve it.

Medallion hunters are urged not to search on private property or damage trees, shrubbery, buildings or other public property in their search.

Clues for the medallion hunt will be posted daily beginning at 10 a.m. July 6 in the window of the Independent Review office, 217 Sibley Ave. N., and on the newspaper’s website at www.independentreview.net. Clues also will be read live on the air at KLFD-AM 1410. Clues will not be read over the telephone.
