At this past Sunday night’s Watercade coronation, Kaitlynn Beighley, left, was crowned princess. She has a local connection to Hutchinson. Her boyfriend, Ethan Stubson, has grandparents who live in town — John and Doris Stubson, and Gloria Ruzicka. Also joining the new royal family were queen Karly Nelson, center, and princess Autumn Raiber.

Litchfield High School graduate Karly Nelson was dubbed the new queen of Litchfield on Sunday night when 2014-2015 Miss Litchfield Ali Richardson placed a crown atop Nelson's head. 

Also crowned during the Watercade coronation ceremony were princesses Kaitlynn Beighley and Autumn Raiber. 

Nelson also earned the title of Miss Congeniality. Candidate Kaitlyn Lundin earned the formal gown award. 

"I am very happy," Nelson said through giggles after the ceremony. "I didn't know it was happening. ... I was very surprised."
