Local children transformed into royalty Monday night at Watercade’s Prince and Princess for a Day event at Litchfield High School.

The seven Miss Litchfield candidates curled girls’ hair, painted girls’ nails bright shades of pink and purple and helped decorate sashes for the girls to wear atop their princess dresses. After getting dolled up, children posed for a professional photograph with Miss Litchfield Kristen Klaben and princesses Kate Carlson and Paige Dilley.

Both girls and boys donned sparkly crowns as they attended a “royal introduction” in the Little Theater, where parents cheered and took pictures. The event kicked off Watercade week, with festivities such as the brat feed and ice cream in the park event continuing today (Thursday).
