Calling all wise, adventure-seeking and puzzle-solving Woodbury residents! Join the search for three hidden coins this winter in Woodbury’s 3rd annual winter medallion hunt, Coin Quest! The three-week long search is a partnership between Woodbury Public Safety, Woodbury Community Foundation and Woodbury Parks and Recreation and includes three coins – one hidden in a Woodbury park each week!

Clues to the hidden coin will be provided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning the week of Jan. 15, and running through the week of Jan. 29.

Clues will be posted on Woodbury MN Police, Fire EMS and Woodbury Parks and Recreation Facebook pages at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Clues will also be posted on this page of the City of Woodbury’s website by 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The clues lead to a 3-by-3 inch acrylic “coin” (square paperweight). The coin might be camouflaged as something else; keep a keen eye out.

The individuals who find each coin will receive the original coin as a keepsake and $100 worth of gift cards to Woodbury businesses. In additional, each time a coin is found, the Woodbury Community Foundation will generously donate $100 to a local non-profit.

No registration is required. The Coin Quest is intended for Woodbury residents.

Coin quest is back for its third year.
But we want to make a few things clear.

We don't want to leave you in the dark,
So, remember the coin is hidden within a city park.

This coin might be a bit tricky to find,
It can be on the playground, by the trees, or in the field, keep in mind.

Because this park is located in a neighborhood,
It is sure to bring lots of families, as it should.

As laughter passes through the air,
We can expect kids soon to be there.

The rhymes within the clues might get you confused or upset.
Does this mean we are reading a book about Romeo and Juliet?
For I stand on top of the playground, thinking it’s my castle,
I’d love to feel like Rapunzel and let my hair down, but it’s such a hassle.

Alright alright, enough with the show
Back to the clues we go.
One last thought.
Would Romeo and Juliet have played tennis if they didn’t get caught?

Now with the third and final clue in hand,
It’s time for you to understand.
The pond is located on the east side,
And approximately 100 feet from the slide.

Did I mention it’s hidden by the baseball field?
Which one you ask? That’s yet to be revealed.
If you really have no idea where the coin is placed,
Turn around, head west and follow your footsteps as your path is retraced.

The coin is hidden at a park on the southwest side of town,
Hidden under somewhere you can sit down.

Watch out for foul balls as you sit on the third base side,
Cheering is implied.
