2023 Jordan Heimatfest Medallion Hunt

THE RULES

You ready to hunt with the best?

When it was hot, did you rest?

It’s time now for hunting,

And that’s such a fun thing.

These rules will serve as a test.

Do you tromp on some lady’s nice flowers?

Or dig in some poor critter’s bowers?

No, don’t you dare!

The coin is not there.

We only use public land: Ours!

This gold coin won’t be in the water.

(We don’t want to scare up an otter.)

Don’t bother the fish.

How sincere is our wish!

Just walk where you can; that’s an oughta.

Do you need to be high as a kite?

Are you sure that the coin’s in plain sight?

We answer oh, no and oh, yes.

No dig and no water--good guess.

(For goodness’ sake, don’t hunt at night!)

No digging or splashing, no ladders, our land

These rules you should keep in your hand

One rule yet to go,

When looking for dough:

Have fun here in Jordan so grand.

THE MEDALLION HUNT BEGINS!
But first: this message. There are rules. Here we go!
No private party has the medallion on their property, so stick to publicly owned
places.
The Heimatfest medallion may not be hidden underground.
The Heimatfest medallion may not be hidden underwater.
The Heimatfest medallion may not be hidden too high for an adult to reach.
This is JORDAN’s Heimatfest, so the medallion must be close to home. It may not
be hidden in the next county, way beyond city limits, or even one township over.
That’s it! The first actual clue will be out next week. Have fun, stay cool, watch out

for traffic, construction areas…….you know the drill.

Rain, rain, come my way
Come tomorrow and today
Feed the gardens and the crops
From their roots up to their tops
Then let up so seekers play

They’ll be out from day to day
At their task they really stay
Until it’s found, that coin of gold
By someone who’s oh, so bold
And looks up from bailing hay

From all sides gold hunters may
Search the spots wherein it lay
From the time ‘twas put in place
Awaiting sign to start the race
That ends in prize to finder pay

Now that we’ve had rain again,
It is time to pick up pen,
Urge that seekers not be fools,
Watch for trucks and heed the rules.
All will be so easy then.

Some of you remember when
Cluester took great pains to ken
A perfect place to hide a prize,
But since then has gotten wise,
And for green has bourn a yen.

Fields and farms but no pigpen,
Green as grass in Irish fen.
Ancient land yet new abode,
Up to snuff and all to code.
‘Tis a fair way for each gen.
