Parsons, Kansas, a city steeped in railroad history and brimming with a promising future, is hosting its 25th annual Katy Days festival.
This year, the Katy Days medallion hunt is back, and here are the rules: the medallion can only be found on public property throughout the city. Private property is off-limits, so please don’t get into any trouble with the law. Let’s keep the atmosphere lighthearted and enjoyable.

Originally chartered as the Union Pacific Railway - Southern Branch (Katy). Judge Levi Parsons road started with the construction (diagonally from northwest to southeast) from Junction City, Kansas, to Chetopa, Kansas, in 1868.
A little bit of a hint today: watch where you walk; you could easily step on me.

Judge Levi Parsons was proud of the southeastern land that was named after him. Colonel Stevens and Judge Parsons were particularly proud of the way the track was laid for the southeastern part of the railroad.
Enough with the history, let’s talk about some clues. You can mark off the north side of town because that’s not where I’m at. My appearance is gold, and I show some history. Don’t look that way; look down; that’s where I’ll be found.
