2026 Coon Rapids Snowflake Days Medallion Hunt

​The medallion hunt will begin on Friday, January 30th, 2026 

and will continue throughout the Snowflake Days celebration

until found.  Clues will be posted on this page daily.

Rules are:

1)  You must have a 2026 Snowflake Days button to claim the

cash prize.

2)  The medallion will be hidden on City of Coon Rapids

property.

3)  Any destruction of City property during your search will

disqualify you from claiming the prize. 

4)  Clues will be posted on this website page by 8:00 a.m. daily

beginning on Friday, January 30th, 2026 through Sunday,

February 8th, 2026 or until medallion is found.

5)  The lucky person who finds the medallion should

email dianebuszta@yahoo.com or text message to

612-366-1834 immediately!  Announcement will be made on

this page when medallion is found.

6)  All notifications regarding this medallion hunt will be posted

on this page.

7)  Prize will be awarded to the winner on Sunday, February

8th, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Coon Rapids City Hall

immediately following the Community Waffle Breakfast.

8)  Finder of the 2026 medallion will receive a $500 prize!

Hiding the treasured medallion is one of his kicks;
Scouring the city landscape in search of a spot,
Knowing that many searchers are on to his plot.

This longtime Coon Rapids resident is said to be smooth with the chords;
Our 2026 marquis is our good friend mr. bill kiecker,
rumor has it he is also a pretty good picker. (guitar that is)

A National Hall of Fame Coach once lived near this spot,  
And his name is a clue to this realm when connecting the dot;
Once the area abutting was charred and blackened grass,
Thanks to a young man named Johnny and his magnifying glass.

And a place partially named like a missed wicket shot;
Down the street to a word for a group of second tier homestead,
Keep your mind on the prize lest the clues go to your head.

first line ref. to what was called anoka gardens-it is said anoka is dakohtan for two sides of the river- residential area across from Morris bye, bye can be a cricket term when wicket keeper misses the ball, 3rd line- is vague english description of a thorpe (park)

Abutting this area like the heartwood from a sweet gum tree coloration,
Once referred to as stately residences in a well-configured formation;
Amenities are plentiful when you emerge from this location,
Yet technically close to double in size than its two-end destination.

the housing area to the freeway side of trail was once known by some as hazelwood manor- last two lines reference Marshland park and thorpe and the fact Marshland trail acres are twice that of the parks on either end
