Treasure hunters, it’s not too early to get your shovels ready.
The 2009 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt, presented by Cub Foods, will begin with publication of the first clue on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The hunt, a St. Paul tradition since 1952, challenges readers to solve daily clues and be the first to find a medallion hidden on public land in Ramsey County.
This year’s winner could win up to $10,000, plus $1,200 in groceries from Cub Foods.
A new Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt clue will be published daily through Thursday, Jan. 29, unless the medallion is found before that date. Newspapers with the next day’s clue will be available beginning at about 11:30 p.m. each night in the lobby of the Pioneer Press’ downtown headquarters at 345 Cedar St. in St. Paul.
TwinCities.com will host the official Treasure Hunt Web site. Clues will be posted online by midnight each day of the hunt.
