This clue provides two key hints. First, it narrows the search down to somewhere in the Duluth city limits. Secondly, the trail reference refers to the Superior Hiking Trail which was just feet away from where the medallion was hidden.

The first part of this clue indicates there is a picnic ground nearby. "Al" is a dedication to "Allan" on a park bench near the Peace Bell and the medallion. The medallion was on the ground, hence "get on your knees."

"Bert" is the park's namesake's first name - Bert Enger, *a native of Norway who came to this country and became a successful furniture dealer. *//*At the time of his death Mr. Enger donated two thirds of his estate to the city of Duluth. This included the land known as Enger Hill. Which along with Enger tower is also the home of Enger Park and Enger Golf Course.
