St. Paul Winter Carnival heads into first weekend

ST. PAUL—Relatively mild weather is in store for the first weekend of the 122nd St. Paul Winter Carnival.

The forecast calls for a high around 27 with cloudy skies.

Today’s events in downtown St. Paul includes the Grande Day Parade at 1 p.m. from Mears Park down East Fifth Street and ending near City hall.

There will also be judging for the multiblock ice carving competition in Rice Park, with the awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at McGovern’s Pub.

The St. Paul Winter Carnival runs through next weekend.
