125 years already?
The 2011 St. Paul Winter Carnival marks a century-plus of winter fun in the east metro, filled with ice castles, ice sculptures and the never-ending ice-and-fire battle between King Boreas and Vulcanus Rex.
This year’s commemorative buttons pay tribute to the wintry legacy, with historical images of a mustachioed Vulcan, a beaming Klondike Kate, an ice castle and a surprisingly ghostly King Boreas.
The 125th anniversary buttons were put together by staff at Concept Group, a St. Paul-based marketing communications agency.
The four buttons are available for sale at Cub Foods and Super America and at the Winter Carnival website, winter-carnival.com. Prices are $5 apiece or $20 for a pack of four.
