Treasure Hunt’s appeal is ageless

The action was in St. Paul's Como Park during the search for 2003's medallion. Among the hunters were Tammy Leigh and her son, Jackson, 3, who came into St. Paul from the Wright County community of St. Michael. "I grew up in St. Paul," Tammy said, peering into a hollow stump with Jackson, "so we try to get back here for the Treasure Hunt. My grandma used to take us when we were kids, and I'm keeping up the tradition." (Pioneer Press file photo)

After reading the latest clue in the Pioneer Press, Jordan, his brother, Christian, 6, and their father, Randy Lundberg, set out to try their luck in the park, near the family's home on St. Paul's West Side. "They've looked forward to this all year long,'' Randy Lundberg said.

The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt is for all ages, but being younger sometimes makes battling the elements a little bit easier. In years past, kids have searched for, and sometimes found, the medallion, too.
