It’s not too soon to be thinking of fur capes and tiaras twinkling in the snow.
Applications are being accepted for the 2018 St. Paul Winter Carnival Queen of Snows candidate program. In January, five women will be chosen to serve as Aurora, Queen of the Snows, and the North, East, West and South Wind Princesses. They will serve as goodwill ambassadors for their sponsors, the Winter Carnival and the city of St. Paul throughout 2018.
The program is open to all women over the age of 21 (by coronation day, Jan. 26, 2018), regardless of marital status, dependents, place of residence or employment status, though they must be high school graduates.
A “Candidate Meet and Greet” will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mama T’s Castle Tap (lower level), 2500 Rice St., Little Canada. This is a casual setting for women considering running for Queen of Snows to ask questions and mingle with other candidates. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the candidate committee and the 2017 royal women.
