The Minnesota Twins’ only No. 7, Joe Mauer, will serve as Grand Marshal for the St. Paul Winter Carnival’s King Boreas Grand Day Parade.

The St. Paul native and Cretin-Derham Hall grad will be honored guest at the parade on Saturday, Jan. 26, as will his wife, Maddie, and their twin daughters, Emily and Maren.

Earlier in the day, Mauer will greet fans at TwinsFest.

The Grand Day Parade starts at 2 p.m. near Smith Avenue off West Seventh Street downtown, and make its way to Kellogg Mall Park, this year’s temporary site of Winter Carnival festivities.

The 133rd St. Paul Winter Carnival runs Jan. 24 through Feb. 3. Most events will take place at Kellogg Mall Park, while the traditional site, Rice Park, is being renovated.

Most events are free and open to the public. For details, visit wintercarnival.com.
