"on the home stretch" another reference to the baseball field
"if you cut it down then you'll never know" - lyric from "colors of the wind" from Pocahontas" - preceding line talks about the sycamore tree - Lions park is on Sycamore Street
"near forest and prairie" - diverts to Prairie Knoll park but also there is a prairie and forest along the trail and it connects with Bunker Hills Park with lots of both
