Clues
Clue 1
Published Date
Thursday, June 25, 2026, 10:00 AM

Our hunt is darkening your doorstep
A question we ask: Are you ready for fun?
If you are, let’s follow the rules
And be sure to make this hunt a great one!

While you scour the city, and jam to a ditty
Known as the great Tubular Bells
Let’s celebrate too! The Skylab Crew
The beginning of which the story tells

The official meaning of the clue.

Darkening and ready refer to the fire hydrant and dark item which the treasure is hidden in. Great One refers to 99th Lane NE, and that number’s connection to Wayne Gretzky. The entire second stanza refers to the date May 25th, 1973, to which the album Tubular Bells was released and the first Skylab crewed mission began. There is a light pole with the numbers 52573 in the park.

Clue 2
Published Date

Playing, sports, and a walk quite serene
But sounds of cars might muck up the scene
Opinions are split – Should I walk to stay fit?
Or should hunters find a date on the pole that is lit?

The official meaning of the clue.

Mentions that sports and a fairly quiet walk are within the park but the vehicle noise may disturb. Split refers to the fact the park is cut by a street – and that one side has a place for a walk while the other side has several sports options. The last line references the light pole again.

Clue 3
Published Date
Friday, June 26, 2026, 10:00 AM

As you hunt around town, don’t get too close to a house
And don’t scurry around, like a treasure hunt mouse
A football legend has entered our game
By his humble beginnings as given in name

Our treasure is worth much more than a dollar
As our park name might lead to a shout and a holler
Three digits will help in your treasure quest
And being sharp will help put it to rest

The official meaning of the clue.

The first portion refers to the townhouses near the park and the mention of a mouse refers to the idea the treasure is NOT on the ground. The football legend is John Madden, who was originally from Austin, Minnesota. The second stanza makes references to Centennial Green.

Clue 4

Mantle and McEnroe aren’t gonna know
Or be near our treasure location
A guy named Love who throws balls up above
Will be better if treasure’s your vocation

Our semiquincentennial year
It’s the last part that brings the cheer
It’s in the way that you use it, it comes and it goes
It’s in the way that you use it, boy don’t you know

The official meaning of the clue.

The first stanza eliminates the Portion of the park with baseball and tennis. The second stanza reinforces the park and refers to CENTENNIAL and the last two lines give lyrics to a song by Eric Clapton from the movie The Color of Money (which is GREEN) to give you Centennial Green Park.

For our treasure in year two fifty
