The Brown Deer Community Foundation is excited to announce they are bringing back the medallion hunt for a third year, set to begin on Tuesday, May 12. Last year, thousands of people were out looking for the medallion somewhere hidden in Brown Deer, which was found 18 days later along the Oak Leaf Trail adjacent to the Original Village. This year, the medallion will again be hidden somewhere in Brown Deer and clues will be published every Tuesday and Friday in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and on the Village of Brown Deer website until the medallion is found.
The clay medallion was crafted by local Brown Deer artist Jean Wells. The medallion hunt is proudly sponsored by local restaurant Café Corazon. The medallion this year will showcase a skull in the Café Corazon colors of blue, red, yellow, and orange. Based on the high participation and energy last year, Café Corazon is increasing their sponsorship and the winnings for finding the medallion to $2,500. The winner will also share a taco bar buffet with past winners at the Cafe Corazon location in Brown Deer. The Foundation will work closely with Café Corazon to host a photo opportunity and ceremony recognizing the winner of the medallion hunt.
