Attendees enjoyed good music, an overview of 100 years of bandshell history and still got home before dark. We learned the positive influence for education and music appreciation from the Glenwood Academy which was instrumental (pun intended) in establishing this venue that a century later we still see.My paternal Grandma attended the Academy, which perched on a knoll looked august and formal. Three decades later my Mom also trained to teach school which looked, in a word, normal. 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of her birth on a farm over in the New Prairie Township, but at the same time. So I just want to give a shout our and say thanks for her knack of writing in rhyme.
