2024 New London Water Days Medallion Hunt

A great day it is,
To start hunting for ME!
But can't tell you much,
What kind of hunt would that be?

There's $200 cash in the prize for me,
...the finder of the WaterDays medallion.
I've got stars, I've got stripes and hoping so much,
You'll choose to be part of my battallon!

My home may be public or it may be private,
Just be sure to do nothing to destroy.
Be respectful of the property that is my home,
In hopes you will not annoy.

Play nice, I say, for the future requires,
In order for me to return.
If the hunt goes well, I'll be sponsored again,
And again for clues you will yearn!

It's day two of this magical hunt,
I can hear others scuttling about.
My home is secluded my front facing west,
My back facing east then no doubt,

If only I could slide off of this perch,
And shout, "Hey look...here I am!
Take me to play. I'm sure we'd be friends,
I'm begging you Sir and you Ma'am!"

I love this small town with history and heritage,
Pouring out all over the streets.
The families and friends and strangers and such,
So many places to stop and buy treats!

Please come out to search,
If only for fun,
Find my new home,
And it's cash you'll have won!

I hear you walk by buyt can't see your face,
And typically hear only feet.
Oh, how I wish you'd find the right place,
And finally you and I'd meet.

If only I could jump off of this nail,
Perhaps I would make the right sound.
To get your attention, is all it would take,
And once again I would be found.

I am in the front, not in the rear.

So much to do and people to see,
All things that really count.
But mainly the greatest of all of these,
Is the love in this town, and amount!

The ink's barely dry on my face this year,
As last minute I found a home.
Relaxing and peaceful and hidden it is,
With a history all of its own.

You don't have to do much to change what you see,
And all can be made new.
So take what you have and make the commitment,
To love someone well-specially YOU!
