2025 Plymouth Fire & Ice Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Administrator on

The 15th-annual Fire & Ice Medallion Hunt begins Thursday, Jan. 9 with a clue posted on the city's social media platforms and the Fire & Ice webpage.

More clues will be published Thursdays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30, or until someone finds the medallion. There is no need to register or pay to participate. A $250 prize is awarded to the first sleuth who finds the medallion.

The medallion is hidden on city property. The medallion is hidden in such a way that it is not out in the open. Staff does not uncover it after a snowfall to make it more visible. Participants should be able to wipe away any snow to find the location of the medallion. The person who finds the medallion should contact Plymouth Parks and Recreation at 763-509-5200.

New this year: Community members may join a live medallion hunt on-site at the Fire & Ice event Feb. 1.

Another winter without much snow, not very Minnesotan, dontcha know.
But we have something sure to be fun, out in the park you can walk or run.
The Fire & Ice Medallion has found a new spot, now get out and search, just give it a shot.

Another week and I am still out here hiding,
find the right park and on the trails you’ll be striding.

You won’t need to dig, but I am low to the ground,
more north than south is where I can be found.

Bodies of water, this state has a lot,
frozen and cold, you are close to the spot.

Take a little walk or stop for a swing,
find the medallion before it thaws in the spring.

Finally the cold snap is over and done,
maybe now you will find the one.

Look for something that once stood tall,
the perfect place for birds to call.

In some places, I am considered iconic,
at this park there are a few, a number not so ironic.

If I were you, I would probably hurry,
the weather is perfect, not even a flurry.
