In Somerset each year we search

So far and wide, from school to church

Medallion, hidden with skill,

Or so we thought! A bitter pill

We swallow each sad summer when

Within two weeks it's found again!

Roll up your sleeves, this year won't be

An easy find, so I decree!

This first week, all that I will say

Is you can find it in the Milky Way,

Upon the third rock from a star,

Are you following so far?

On planet Earth is your best bet,

In Wisconsin cast your net.

More than that? Now don't get greedy.

This year's hunt will not be speedy.

ould you like some hot pea soup?
A bowl of sticky greeny goop?
Would you like it in a house?
Would you like it served by scouts?
Would you like some bits of ham?
Or would you rather mix in Spam?
Would you like it on a hill?
Careful so you do not spill!
Would you like it in a tree?
Would you like to share with me?
Would you like some bits of gravel?
Would you eat it when you travel?
If you like it, don’t delay!
Get some soup at Pea Soup Days!

Listen close, for I have a troubling story to tell

About the time the aliens came and abducted an

Innocent man!  He saw the flying saucers hovering

Overhead before a bright beam made him soar

Into the air and into their ship, where they had a

Cage with little birdies, eagles, and even an

Albatross!  One of them had a big green head

And it made a sound like chains that rattle

It gave him sound advice before they bid adieu

To always look at the last in line, where clues appear

Clue 4

None of these clues make much sense,

I hate these poems, they’re much too dense.

The first was really just a joke,

To throw you off or make you choke.

The medallion is of course on Earth,

It tells the truth for what it’s worth.

The second was like Doctor Seuss,

This clue writer’s a silly goose.

But certain words are useful still,

 Notice gravel, trees, and hill.

The third clue was the strangest yet,

Some metaphor to make you sweat.

What flying saucers might you find

In the last letter of each line?

And now we come to number four,

So get your shoes and out the door!

 Get into nature, look around

At what great structures can be found.

Clue 5

In this place you’ll see a flower,

When it rains it’s like a shower,

Still has pressure when there’s no power,

 That massive structure is a...

Watch your step or squish a toad,

Hope this grassy hill’s been mowed,

 Do you understand this code?

When you drive it’s on a...

Searching with your son or daughter,

Watch your step, you just might totter,

Hope you brought a good fly swatter?

 Mosquitos like to live by...

This nature area you must scour,

 Quick, before your chances sour!

Find it in this final hour,

Search around the big grey…
