Trail Walk Treasure Hunt

Join our treasure hunt across South St. Paul’s parks. Solve the clues, find the medallion, and claim your prize.

How it works

Clues & Schedule

  • Clues post on our website and on Facebook @SSP.Parks.Rec.Events.
  • The first clue posts on Wednesday.
  • A new clue appears daily at 12:00 p.m. (Wednesday-Saturday) until the medallion is found.

Park Hours

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. only. If you trespass outside these hours, you will be disqualified.

Calling all maniacs, we’re serving up Caniacs
And of course, you’ll need extra sauce
If you come up short, don’t hit abort
It shouldn’t lead to a loss.
The official meaning of the clue.
Shout out to this hunt's sponsor, Cane's while also referencing that the park's official name, "Veteran's Field", is often coloquially shortened to "Vet's". "Loss" also alludes to the numerous sporting events that take place at the park.

There before, gone today
I know many who greatly miss it.
But don’t look there, find its pair
Similar in how it is writ.
The official meaning of the clue.
This clue refers to the now disbanded Gallagher Hansen Post 295 V.F.W., with the "V" Standing for "Veteran's", just like the name of our park.

Clue 3
Fabricate your strategem, to ensure you beatem
Remember to pack your glove
Be a square, its not "fair"
Stop, head back home for some love
The official meaning of the clue.
This clue references the prefabricated Quonset hut housing for veterans that used to occupy the land that now contains Veteran's Field. While "strategem" may have made you think of war and battles, it could also refer to strategies employed by the teams who play at the field. Vet's is also in the shape of a square, and "glove", "stop", "home", and "back" direct hunters to look behind the home plate backstop of one of the ball fields in foul, not "fair" territory to find out medallion.
