Trail Walk Treasure Hunt

Join our treasure hunt across South St. Paul’s parks. Solve the clues, find the medallion, and claim your prize.

How it works

Each week, we post clues that point to a park and the local business sponsor. Find the hidden medallion, snap a photo of where you found it, and bring it to SSP City Hall at 125 3rd Ave. N. to receive a treasure from the featured business.

Clues & Schedule

  • Clues post on our website and on Facebook @SSP.Parks.Rec.Events.
  • The first clue posts on Wednesday.
  • A new clue appears daily at 12:00 p.m. (Wednesday-Saturday) until the medallion is found.

Park Hours

8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. only. If you trespass outside these hours, you will be disqualified.

The medallion will not be hidden in or under:

  • School property
  • Pools (Northview or Lorraine)
  • Skating surfaces
  • Baseball or softball fields
  • Underground or beneath ground surfaces
  • Gated areas
  • Construction sites

No digging, climbing, or tools are required. Do not alter City property. Follow posted signs and staff directions.

Hunters we welcome you all, to this hunt sponsored by the Croatian Hall. Search in SSP for what you desire;
There's a few ways to get in and get out, three strikes your out, don't argue with me I'm the umpire

The official meaning of the clue.

The Croatian hall sponsored hunt 3 for the SSP Parks and Rec Trail walk treasure hunt. Although there are many parks with ball fields we do narrow the hunt zone to 8 parks but our park requires an official umpire as it’s him to the SSP girls Varsity softball team!

Are you home or away, the right side will make your day, I promise not to be a pest.

One of four, this one's at your city's back door, some may know its brother park to the West.

The official meaning of the clue.

From the medallion hiding spot you can see the “away” team sign on the dugout of the ballfield so you need to choose the right side to play for, either home or away and in this case it’s away! “One of four” South St. Paul’s Harmon Park joins parks of the same name in Pipestone, West St. Paul, and Worthington, Minnesota who benefited from park development funding sponsored by the Harmon Foundation Playgrounds in America program.

Run the bases like Hank, don't draw a blank, in this area surrounded by spruce and Mac.

No racquets required, if you find your self retired, a puck could keep you on track!

The official meaning of the clue.

Street names for the park given, “Hank” Henry St, MacArthur St., and Spruce Street. This clue clue also gives all three sports amenities in the park. It’s not by the tennis court and it’s also not hidden on the field so you wouldn’t wanna find yourself “retired by the side” a ball reference. But hockey is the sport to be by!

Clue 4
Please don't fret if you haven't made it here yet, the south side of town is a big key!

Don't be a poor mourner, base of the boards in the corner, Harmon park is the place to be!

The official meaning of the clue.

Harmon is on the south side of town and the north west corner of the hockey rink is where you should search. The medallion is hidden between the post holding the boards up in the corner.
