Who wants a riddle?
This could help win the race,
You’ll be hot on the trail
A flower that grows on your face?

Still mulling it over?
It may seem conspicuous
Let us give you a hint
Think not deciduous

Now reverse your thinking
for the exact location
It’s tucked safe inside
The layer of protection
The official meaning of the clue.
A flower that grows on your face is two lips (tulips). Tulips adorned the playground. And a not to look in the bark of a dead, non-deciduous tree.
