Noon

It's Blaine Festival Time and we're here to rhyme
Our medallion hunt is open to all
come to the park but not in the dark
For our rules don't just apply in the fall

To narrow it down within our town
Think higher ed and the soundwaves
Mel says "It's not in Blaine but al the same
The medallion is so you aren't depraved"
The official meaning of the clue.
The first stanza announces the return of the medallion hunt. The fall makes reference to the fact the medallion is hidden in the woods. The second stanza makes reference to Northwestern University and their radio station “theMEL”. Happy Acres Park is in the northwestern portion of the city.

Recent history can help open our mystery
For none of these gentlemen swung wrong
Brooks, Gary, Bryson, and John
They all drive it straight and long

Ancient names can open our game
For two more of these men had the hits
Joe and Willie - it might sound silly
They were representing the Brits
The official meaning of the clue.
This clue, which is intended to be difficult, lists the first names of the 3rd, 7th, 118th, 119th, 120th, and 121st US Open Golf Tournament winners. Streets with those numbers all run near Happy Acres Park.

The half century mark for our favorite park
Has come and gone in a day
Gretzky would love it, Mantle would glove it
And all would be happy to play

Where you see, is the place to be
Farm livin’ is the life for me
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan just give me that country side!
The official meaning of the clue.
The first stanza mentions that Happy Acres Park celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary last year. References to Gretzky and Mantle make reference to Hockey and Baseball. The use of the word “Happy” is obvious. The second stanza uses the lyrics from the theme song of the TV show Green Acres.

Recreation for all, you’ll have a ball
As you arrive for your favorite game
A different kind, where you can unwind
Visit Buffet and you’ll play the same

Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu too
Come into our game and are useful tools
Think differently about what these can do
And the treasure just might be yours too
The official meaning of the clue.
The first stanza refers to Warren Buffet’s favorite game, which is Bridge. The second stanza refers to streaming services. The treasure is hidden close to the bridge along the stream at Happy Acres Park.

Clue 5
Two Woodlands will help mark the spot
One is a golfer the others not hot
The trail through the houses will get you close
A nearby tree is what you want most

At Happy Acres we bid you farewell
Where next year, time will tell
We’ve had some fun, we must confess
We hope you did too, it’s time to digress
The official meaning of the clue.
Two Woodlands is Gary Woodland, the winner of the 119th US Open, and the woodlands to which the medallion is hidden. The medallion was hidden at the base of a tree near the bridge at the end of the trail that comes through the houses off of 119th Circle NE.
