2021 Centerville Fete des Lacs Medallion Hunt

The medallion was found but never turned in.

Ode to a Medallion

Sometime last week our medallion
Was moved from the place it was hidden.
However it was never claimed,
And for that we are perplexion ridden.

Where could it be? You all say
Why wouldn't they claim it?
We honestly don't really know,
The prize money will just have to sit.

As our festival comes to a close,
We feel it's been a good run.
We hope you enjoy our great town
And look forward next year's Fete fun!

This park is not all by itself,
There’s more than two in close proximity.

A Regional Trail cuts through town,
These parks sit above that line
Rotate your map so south is down,
And you will find this park just fine.

You need not disturb any private grounds,
And no digging or destruction please.
Take lots of care with our public land,
And do your hunting with great ease.

Of parks where you’ll need to look.
What’s in a name? Well, at this park
We aren’t referring to a Brook.

The street name itself is not an English word
About that we wouldn’t lie.
It rolls eloquently off your tongue
As if a Frenchman said “good-bye”

At the top of the City’s website, seek,
A listing of parks in town.
This park would fall last on the list
If the list were turned upside down.

Your hunt is coming to a close.
If you’re at Acorn Creek Park
The prize is right under your nose.

Recently a garden was planted
To encourage butterflies and bees
To find it once you’re at the park,
Move south, along the trees.

Keep a keen eye out for a sign
And at its base, a nice big stone.
Again, PLEASE stay off the plants.
In the garden bed please don’t roam.
