The 2018 Waterama Medallion has been found by the Majerus, Lundebrek, Harris & Hanson families once again!
Pictured are the following family members: Front: Mileigh Lundebrek & Matthew Lundebrek.Back: Jenny Harris, Carol Hanson, Eleigh Lundebrek, Bill Hanson, JoAnne Harris
The medallion was found taped to a picnic table across from Glenwood Retirement village near the soccer fields, where people frequently take breaks, sit and watch the lake, or just rest on their walks.
When asked what parts of the clues led them there, they replied: “There were a lot of things that led us that direction. There were several discussions about the clues that we had, but in the end, it was putting together the pieces such as …. Survive 60 plus years, providentially blessed to call this our home, bells, green grass, leafy trees, pleasant lake breezes, spirit, family and all modes of transportation. In addition, they said that the repeated “BE KIND” was a big clue as the local “Be Kind” committee meets are Glenwood Retirement Village and sometimes uses that exact picnic table to hold their regular meetings.”
Over the past several days, there have been many people out searching, many questions of what are the city limit borders, what’s public versus private property, and repeated, many found it hard to believe that the Minnewaska Area High School was not in the City limits of Glenwood!
Of the past 6 years of searching for the medallion, this family has found it now 4 of the 6 years! It was not a surprise to us that they emerged with the medallion once again!
Attached you will find a complete copy of the medallion clues, including that which would have been released Saturday morning, which as you will see would have led anyone directly to that same spot!
Congratulations to the Majerus, Lundebrek, Harris & Hanson families combined efforts and diligent searching and we hope that you enjoy spending your $100 in Minnewaska Dollars that the Chamber & Welcome Center provide each year as a prize for the winners!
Happy Waterama Everyone! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
