Welcome to Waterama 64 for another week of summertime fun
Right here in Glenwood ,MN on Lake Minnewaska, Planet Earth - 3rd Rock from the sun.
Not as stylish with rings like Saturn, nor as “far out“ as Neptune,
Our home is the blue planet, and we have just one moon.

This past week marked the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.
That it was accomplished with less technology than today’s smart phone,
is really quite outstanding!
A bold challenge early in the decade channeled the vision of American spirit and pride;
As schools, industry and bipartisan governance were united and rallied for the ride.
And what a ride it was, the nation was along watching on black & white TV,
Holding our breath as the lunar landing module touched down on Tranquility’s Sea.
Besides the iconic photo on front-page news of a footprint left behind,
The unintended, yet indelible image of starship earth became etched in our collective mind.

So enough of the “luney” talk let’s focus on the image, alone in space of this beautiful sphere,
And come down to earth to our sparkling lake & lake walk, with interspersed nodes right here;
Or gaze along our ribbon of now complete, complete street project with its own curb appeal.
Even so, Sunday’s parade will again use last year’s route, kind of a green new deal.
