Hugo people in the know
All look to June to stop the snow.
Each kid knows the schools all close
Then Lions banish inter woes.

let's cheer for fun -- and warm sunshine!

In this treasure marathon,
This fact you can depend upon:
On public land within the city
Spike is hiding, sitting pretty,
Waiting for the clever hunter --
The two-plus-two and out-in-front-er.

No need for tools -- just read the rules.
Metal detector, shovel, and rake?
Leave 'em at home, for goodness' sake.
A treasure hunter in good stead
Is called upon to use his head.

The city’s map of open spaces
Shows parks and trails and public places.
Thirty-six square miles are Hugo’s measure —
A snag, when hunting hidden treasure.

Some quests are there just for the taking,
Life's golden opportunities.
So will this park, long in the making,
Reward ol' Spikey's devotees.

Spike’s hiding place is anyone’s guess;
But one alone will corner success.
Take a deep breath; it’s only then
That you can let it out again.
 

Armchair hunters and their like
Will surely fail to locate Spike.
Grab your shoes, the stakes are high.
Don’t let this adventure pass you by.
