The IGH Days medallion is back!
Following these rules will keep you on track
On school property and golf courses you shouldn’t roam
And make sure to leave your digging tools at home

Now father, son, mother, and daughter
We aim to figure which is smarter
Come on out and join the fun
Taking direction from the rising sun

Grab a ball, a bat, and maybe even a glove
And search for a place with plenty of love
No need to sharpen your skates at this time
For in this verse is a message sublime

Looking for twins might help you win
But make sure you land the right one
Look to the east, a few miles at least
Now head out and have some fun

The official meaning of the clue.

Verse 1: Tells hunters to avoid school property and golf courses and that digging tools are not needed.

Verse 2: Refers to Community Family Fun Night which will be held at Oakwood Park and that the park is in the Eastern part of IGH and in the Eastern part of the park.

Verse 3: Made reference to the many sporting options (ball fields, tennis courts and ice rink) within the park. The message sublime is the fact that there is a ice rink, but there is no need for skates at this time.

Verse 4: The twins refer to the Oakwood Park in IGH where the medallion was hidden and Oakwood Park in Cottage Grove, which is a few miles directly east of the IGH version.

If you avoid questions you cannot answer
Then the prize money just won’t transfer
And as you ponder this clue to the hilt
Keep an eye out for our medallion on stilts

“I’m a big kid now!” one might claim
In order to find it, you must do the same
Regular, Same-Sex, and GoodNites too
It doesn’t matter, the name is important to you

Lines, lines, are the name of the game
It just takes one, it is all the same
Make a short stop, but you’d better hurry
Because it’s along this line that people will scurry

Those at home who like to keep score
It’s a rock solid start, now add ten more
And for appearance sake, they are connected
The shape they make is a line deflected

The official meaning of the clue.

Verse 1: The “questions you cannot answer” is referring to the word “stumped”, and the medallion was hidden in a hollowed out stump. The “stilts” are the pegs which hold the fake stump to the ground.

Verse 2: The whole verse is referring to “huggies” which are “pull-ups” leading you to the fact that you would need to pull up on the stump to find the medallion.

Verse 3: The lines are referring to the base lines of ballfield and the word “shortstop” should lead you to the line from second to third and the treasure was along this line extended.

Verse 4: Refers to a rock bench with 30 posts (score plus 10 more) surrounding it in the shape of an arc which is a line deflected and is in the vicinity of the treasure.

A rectangular park will help you along
It’s a piece of cake when sung in song
A mirror image of a silver sky
Don’t forget to make sure to ask why

This years Masters will lead you faster
As you take a swing at our glorious prize
It’s a tradition in number, that will lead to the lumber
And it is this that will make you wise

The official meaning of the clue.

Verse 1: “A mirror image of a Silver Sky” are lyrics to a song called “Conroy” by the band Cake, leading you to Conroy Way, which runs along the South and East side of this rectangular shaped park.

Verse 2: The 2014 Masters was the 78th edition, which refers to the fact that 78th Avenue runs by the park. It also mentions lumber hinting that the medallion is hidden in wood.

Clue 4

Wood will help you in our game
And Oak might add to your blooming fame
The second half will make you richer
Like the shortstop, not the pitcher

Draw a line from second to third
Then extend that line to two simple words
Slanted driveway! That’s it! The line is at hand
Just make 100% sure you avoid private land

The official meaning of the clue.

Verse 1: Gives the name of the park by combining the words “Oak” and “Wood” from the first two lines.

Verse 2: Gives the line from second to third on ball field and mentioned a “slanted driveway” which can be seen on an aerial photograph in front of a house on the eastern side of Conroy Way. It was along this line that the medallion was hidden.

Clue 5

Do we have you stumped? Where can it be?
Pinned to the ground are the remnants of a tree
Head generally north of the rock to where the path wends
Pull it on out because it’s where the hunt ends

Retrieve the medallion from the hollowed out space
And so it ends our first annual medallion chase
Now claiming the prize should not be delayed
You’ll be awarded a t-shirt, cash, and a ride in the parade

The official meaning of the clue.

Verse 1: Refers to the stump that is pinned to the ground in the vicinity of a large rock and the fact that you would need to pull to find the medallion.

Verse 2: Mentioned the hollowed space in the fake stump where the medallion is hidden and also tells hunters of the prize.
