2016 Inver Grove Heights Days Hunt

2016 IGH Days Medallion Hunt Rules

  • Clues will be released daily at 10AM and 5PM at www.buyherepayherminnesota.com on “The Hunt” page starting on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. There will be a total of 8 clues unless the medallion is found prior.
  • If the medallion not found by 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016, the prize money will be added to next year’s prize.
  • Car and Credit Connection of South St. Paul will award the finder(s) a $250 prize provided EACH finder has an official 2016 Inver Grove Heights Days button. If any of the finder(s) do not have a button, the prize awarded will be $100 and the remainder will be added to next year’s prize. The finder(s) will also receive an official “I Found the IGH Days Medallion” t-shirt and will be given the option of riding in the parade as the medallion hunt winners.
  • The medallion will be hidden on public land in the City of Inver Grove Heights.
  • The City of Inver Grove Heights and Car and Credit Connection of South St. Paul reserve the right to discontinue the treasure hunt at any time if public property is destroyed or people are hunting on private property.
  • The medallion will not be on or in a body of water, on top of a building, up a tree, on a steep cliff, underground, indoors, inside anything electrical or something that is locked. Be safe. Search, don't destroy.
  • Payment of the prize is contingent on the immediate return of the medallion. Please follow the directions that are hidden with the medallion to claim your prize. DO NOT WAIT TO NOTIFY US IF YOU FIND THE MEDALLION.
  • No digging instruments will be needed to find or to assist in finding the medallion. The hunt may be discontinued if people are found using rakes, shovels, or anything else that may damage city property.

Indicates the hunt has officially begun. States that all of the private property Surrounding the park should be avoided. Indicates that all you’ll have to do to find The medallion is use your hands to pick it up

The official meaning of the clue.

While many hunters may interpret this as horseshoes, we are referring to the U shaped road where Cleadis Ave. and Cloman Ave. meet. The thirteen rectangles refer to the windows of the house at 8361 Cloman Ave.

His famous shots should cause you no worry

He would be Golden here with only one regret

The official meaning of the clue.

Refers to the nearby “half court” basketball court. Stephen Curry is famous for making half court shots with “nothing but net”. His only regret is that this court is missing the net on rim. The word“Golden” is a hint to Curry who is a Golden State Warrior.

The official meaning of the clue.

Refers to the number conversion table on the playground within the park. It also defines a “pace” which is estimated at about 30 inches which is less than a yard. When pacing the final location, you go eight paces off the path to the east to a bush and then go eight paces north to the treasure location.

The official meaning of the clue.

The words “legend”, “lose your head” and “tired you out” are hinting at the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The treasure is hidden in Sleepy Hollow Park.

The official meaning of the clue.

The key words here are “clever” and “Minus One Are” which gives you the word Cleve. Cleve Avenue is platted heading into the park off Cleadis and Clomon Avenue and actually shows up on some maps of the area. If you step off 123 paces along the paved path from Cleadis and Clomon, you come to the area where the treasure is located.

The official meaning of the clue.

Makes reference to the sign referencing location #8 on an IGH map and tells you the treasure is located nearby. Also tells you the medallion is hidden in a fake rock.

Heading down the path, 123 paces, sweet!

Take the shortest route towards the horseshoe pits

Once you’ve found the spot along the trail
Go back to Clue Four and then set sail
