Medallion Hunt

The winner will receive a prize pack valued at over $500.

Rules:

There will be 5 clues in all, beginning with the first clue being posted on Monday July 6 on the City of Isanti Facebook page @cityofisanti and on our city website.  Clues will be posted at 10am daily.

The medallion is hidden in a City of Isanti park. Parks are open to the public from 7am-10pm so please only search during normal park hours.

Please, do NOT dig in the ground or climb trees.  The medallion is hidden above ground and no higher than 5 feet.

If the medallion is not found by 4:30pm Friday July 10, 2020, the search will conclude, and the prize money will be added to next year’s prize.

The winner will be awarded a prize package valued at approximately $500 (cash and prizes). If more than one person finds the medallion the prize will be split among the winning group.  

The City of Isanti reserves the right to discontinue the hunt at any time if public property is destroyed or people are searching on private property.

If you find the medallion, please call or text Jenny at 763-772-5856 - Please call during respectful hours of 8am-8pm.

If you win, you must agree to be publicly named along with the possibility of your photo and name(s) on various local websites and a picture and write up for the paper. 

The hunt is open to those that live in the surrounding area.  City of Isanti staff and their immediate family members are exempt from participating.

City of Isanti Parks are: Academy Park, Bluebird Park, Isanti Hills Neighborhood Park, Legacy Park, Mattson Park, River Bluff Preserve, Riverside Park, Rum River Meadows Park, Unity Park, VFW Park and Whisper Ridge Park.

But remains our hunt and our bag of tricks.
Don’t be a quitter, become a little richer.
In a park where you can relax and have a picnic.
The official meaning of the clue.
* The 44th Rodeo festival is canceled this year, but close by the medallion remained at Unity Park.
* Unity Park has a picnic shelter.

Back in 97, near the faith of heaven.
A place was constructed with wintery tech.
Find your money tree, with a “funny” key.
Aid from a mighty bird helped push the check.

* The Hockey Arena near Unity Park was built in 1997.
* “Faith of heaven” is a reference to the Faith Lutheran Church just south of Unity Park.
* “Wintery tech” is a reference to the ice rink inside the arena.
* If you replace the word “funny” with the synonym “Ha” you would get “Ha key”. Which is word play for “Hockey”, once again hinting at the arena near Unity Park.
* The Mighty Duck Assc helped with the funding of the Hockey Arena.
* “Pushed the check” is a reference to hockey for checking.

The colors red, green, and blue, hold a clue,
To unlock the key to education.
To finish in first, and claim the purse,
A loud crack could end your frustration.
The official meaning of the clue.
* the colors red, green, and blue are all primary colors. Hinting at the Primary School across the street from Unity Park, as does the word education.
* “Finish in first” is a reference to 1st Avenue bordering Unity Park. Double meaning for the Rodeo site.
* “A loud crack” is a reference to hitting a home run. The Medallion was hidden under a light pole in home run territory.

* “Light bulb moment” is a reference to the light pole the medallion was hidden under.
* “Steal” is a baseball reference.
* Shoeless Joe Jackson played left field, the medallion was hidden under the light pole in left field.
* The medallion was hidden in home run territory.
