2012 Litchfield Watercade Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Administrator on

The annual Watercade medallion hunt starts with the first clue given Monday, July 2. The medallion will be hidden in the Litchfield area on public property.

The lucky person who finds the medallion can claim the grand prize of $200 by presenting it to a Watercade board member.

Finding the medallion will not require digging, cutting, hammering or any destructive means to retrieve it. Medallion hunters are urged not to search on private property or damage trees, shrubbery, buildings or other public property in their search.

Clues for the hunt will be posted daily beginning at 10 a.m. July 2 in the window of the Independent Review Office, 217 Sibley Ave. N., and on the newspaper's website. Clues will also be read live on the air at KLFD-AM 1410. Clues will not be read over the telephone.

To be eligible for the $200 grand prize, treasure hunters must have purchased a $4 Watercade button from any Miss Litchfield candidate or local business. Anyone without a button who finds the medallion will be eligible for a $100 prize.

The person who finds the medallion must present it the day it is found to be representative of the Watercade Medallion Committee, by calling Keith Johnson at 320-894-8822.

The hunt ends at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8. If the medallion is found, the prize will be awarded during the Miss Litchfield coronation Sunday, July 8, at Bernie Aaker Auditorium in the Meeker County Family Service Center.
