Hello Spring! Where have you been?
I guess you are better late than Never.
My Vitamin D lacking stuck in my Den,
Bye Bye Winter, you’re not all that clever.

The change of the season brings more than
one thing, but one in particular gets me excited.
It’s Pea Soup Days! The early June Fling!
And guess what? Everyone’s invited!

June will be here before you know it.
What will you do to pass all the time?
The medallion hunt of course it’s always a hit.
Can you find me? I’m as slippery as slime.

Pile in your cruiser or get on your bike,
and try to figure out where I am hanging out.
Don’t look west it is too far a hike.
Comb through the rest of town to be a good scout.

Wow the grass around here it is growing fast,
a little rain and sunshine always does the trick.
No one has seen me as one week has passed
So get outside and search, you better be quick.

If you want to know a little about me,
I’m black, green, and look like a puck.
I am very excited to celebrate the pea,
Well, a bunch of peas split open, running amok!

I’m not hanging from a tree or underneath a rock
Just laying around trying not to get wet from the rain.
I am on the ground, covered, which is barely a shock,
If I was just out in the open that would be insane.

People are talking sometimes right by me.
They don’t know I’m here hiding close by.
I heard something crying could that be?
Maybe that was just a bird up in the sky.

School is almost over as the days get longer.
Kids are getting anxious for summer break.
All of the smells of springtime are getting stronger,
To find me this year you might need a rake.

On the south side of town you will run out of luck,
But dont get stressed out just keep your eyes peeled.
Reading the clues you might get a little stuck,
Does it help you to know I am not by a field?

Bring your friends to help you look all around
Sit on a bench and read the clues out loud.
Maybe this year by a kid I am found,
That would make one lucky boy or girl very proud.

If you don't find me that's okay
But, "We could have been so good together”
"Maybe it's just better this way?"
Just make sure to get out and enjoy the weather.
