Medallion Hunt 2016!!!

Medallion Hunt Rules

The idea is for families to get out of the house, have some fun, and to spend some time around Mound.  It's true.  The lucky sleuth young or old who can find this medallion and turn it in for authentication, will receive $300 in hard cold cash.

The prize is expected to be awarded in Surfside Park during the afternoon ceremony and will be listed in the daily schedule and program.  The winner is encouraged to turn in the medallion to the City of Mound or Spirit of the Lakes staff as soon after finding it as possible so proper arrangements can be made.  You must be wearing  a current Spirit of the Lakes button to claim the prize.

All ages are eligible.  However, Mound city employees, City Councilmembers, and their immediate families, are not.  Festival officers, Staff, and immediate families are not eligible either due to involvement in clue distribution.

Eight clues will be posted on Saturday and Sunday mornings by 9am on two websites.  The first is at www.cityofmound.com  and the second is at www.spiritofthelakes.com

A notice on both websites will be posted as quickly as possible if it has been found and turned in.

The first clue will be posted on the morning of Sunday, June 19th and the last one, if it takes that long, will be on Saturday July 16th.

Be respectful of property and have a grand time.  A couple pre-clues to get you thinking are posted below.

SPIRIT OF THE LAKES MEDALLION HUNT

Look high – look low but do not dig.  No shovels needed here,

nor climb above the earthen realm, so you can search with little fear.

A park, a road, a lakeside beach where ever could I rest?

Public land is all in play for hunting – be my guest.

Respect all private property – and do not enter there.

You do not need to anyway to find me in my lair.

From east to west, from north to south, both high and low in Mound,

Good luck to you and all who search exploring all around.
