It’s Winterfest – no time to rest
The medallion search has begun
There's one key clue that's critical to
Just how the hunt will be won.
The official meaning of the clue.

This is a vague clue which is typical for Clue One. KEY and CRITICAL are both synonyms with CENTRAL

A crucial picture hangs nearby
With helpful steps and style
Byt when you stare, you'll be aware
It's been hanging there fore a while

The official meaning of the clue.

Admittedly another difficult clue. This sign is hanging on the small wooden bridge inside the park that runs over Faxson Creek. Not that it matters to me, but the person using the old phone in the picture could use an upgrade.

Here we be at clue number three
The disc's still there to claim
And now some advice: Running over some ice
Is a knoll of a different name

The official meaning of the clue.

This is a reference to Hill Avenue that borders Central Park on the west side and also runs over Faxson Creek

A quality clue sailing straight at you
To help you in your search
And if you're smart you'll take it to heart
It'll lead you to where it's perched

The official meaning of the clue.

“Sailing straight at you” indicates the popular USS Meteor appears to be heading straight to Central Park on a map. “Perched” was simply a word that rhymed with “Search”.

Another update and it will be great
We're zeroing in on the prize
In this hunting hysteria you'll see a place in the area
That seems to be missing an i

The official meaning of the clue.

When I first saw this sign, I just thought that “Multage” was simply a word I hadn’t heard before. Then realized that it should read “Multi-age.” It was missing an i.

The game's drifting forward so to keep clues in order
Here's a paramount hint to consider
The reward's out of view in a Twin Ports venue
In a park that is very familiar

The official meaning of the clue.

This clue contains several hints. Drifting describes what a Frisbee does - Central Park is a popular disc-golf course. “Paramount” is another synonym with central. This clue also spells out that the medallion is hidden in a popular park.

We hope you're still driven cause here coms clue seven
Pay attention to what you've seen
The medallion rests just west to northwest
Of a 300 foot plus evergreen

Clue 7.5

Because of an error in clue seven - we're embarassed
And now a clue that we didn't intend
Because the medlalion lies east and not west in the least
Hopefully that makes just amends

The official meaning of the clue.

These clue is a reference to the medallion’s location in proximity to Juniper Avenue. Obviously there are no actual evergreens that are 300 feet plus in this part of the country. This is also the clue that prompted clue 7.5 because I was clearly directionally challenged as the medallion is east/northeast of Juniper. It was the first (and hopefully last) time an amendment was necessary in the Medallion Hunt

Yet another core clue and we're midway through
Instructions that lead to the crown
Now think of a site and you would be right
To take note it's no longer around

The official meaning of the clue.

Again, “core” and “midway” are synonyms with central. The site that is no longer around is a reference to the old Superior Central High School (or Duluth Central if you want)

And find words that have meanings the same

The official meaning of the clue.

Central Park is a place where people enjoy tennis, sliding and disc golf. The second part of the clue suggests that previous clues contains synonyms that will lead you to the correct location.

It's clue time again here with tip number ten
When you're surfing for medallion site picks
We know the math's wrong but the medallion belongs
Where it appears that 4 equals 6

The official meaning of the clue.

I noticed the tennis courts in the park resembled an equal sign and stood in the middle of 4 th and 6 th Avenues on the satellite image when looking at the map online. “Surfing” suggests you need to go online to discover it.

These are very confusing we know and the search is moving too slow
Our advice, just continue to forage
Don't be thinking of swinging think more about flinging
But no need to rest on your laurels

The official meaning of the clue.

Central Park is a well-known disc-golf course; therefore think of “flinging” and not “swinging” (as in regular golf). “Don’t rest on your Laurels indicates it will not be near Laurel Avenue which also borders Central Park.

So you've narrowed it down to the park and the town
That's concealing the disc that you seek
And now you should know if you want the dough
You should be looking north of the creek

The official meaning of the clue.

The medallion was placed north of Faxon Creek that runs through the park.

For the prize to be found please don't break ground
But here is some useful direction
To find it you must look under snow's crust
In a wide open area section

The official meaning of the clue.

The medallion was deliberately placed in an open area of the park under the crust of snow. Over the days, it became frozen into the snowpack and had to be chiseled out.
