Wahkon welcomes old and young
For four seasons of recreational fun
The hunt for the Lucky Lure has begun
It’s time to give you clue number one.

There’s no need to dig, no tools required
Don’t search private property or you’ll be fired!

The official meaning of the clue.

References a Wahkon sign, specifically the one on the Soo Line Trail, which is used year round. Clue number one is the 1st clue, loosely referencing 1st St which runs into the trail near the sign.

To help you solve our clues, play fair,
We’ll give you a sign, take pity.
Choose the words you seek wisely, use care,
Look around for the key to the city.

The official meaning of the clue.

The “key to the city” (and these clues) is a specific sign with many words (featured in later clues) on the Soo Line Trail, listing amenities Wahkon has to offer.

I can not tell a lie
Soon you’ll see the truth
A piece of vital art
Will make you a sleuth.

The park is a place for kids to play,
You can fish along Wahkon Bay,
Sun tan on a beach all day
Three are near the treasure I’d say.

The official meaning of the clue.

“lie” and “soon” anagram to Soo Line, “vital art” anagrams to atv trail as well as referring to the sign being more of a piece of art, and vital to our clues.

Three words featured on the sign are “park” “fish” and “beach”

TV off! Shoes on! Get up, get outside
At the treasures location a good eye should see
Peek left, peek right, see across and to one side
You’ll find you’re where you need to be!

The official meaning of the clue.

ATV can be spelled with the first 2 letters of the first 2 lines, both ways. “peek left” “peek right” refer to the “keep left” “keep right” signs along the trail and “across” loosely refers to the church and more specifically to a cross made of trees back off the other side of the trail that can be seen from the sign.

No clue where to go? Need more?
Leave it to… Alvin, Simon or Theodore
A tv show could open the door
But stick to your guns & check every crack to score

The official meaning of the clue.

The tv show “Leave it to Beaver” (Theodore being the Beavers first name) refers to the beaver on the sign, and again “A tv” = ATV. “Stick to your guns” refers to the stick shaped almost like a gun that the lure is hidden in, check the stick carefully to find the crack the lure is tucked into.
