I've seen a few questions about this new group so I thought I would hopefully answer them all at once.
The default setting for the group is that if you reply to an email, it posts it to the message board so that everyone sees it. If you want to do something else, then I think you will need to come to the group site which will give you additional options for replying.
The group is set to moderate new members. That means your first post to the group may not show up right away if I'm away from my computer. But once I have approved a message (and presumably assured myself you are not a spambot), then you should be able to post freely afterwards.
Other than that, most everything here seems to work the same as before (and actually even those first two items are the same as before, except for everyone is "new" again this year).
I saw that too. I've also read that they're not quite the same, as a macguffin advances the plot but a red herring just leads you astray. Also wondering what part would be the red herring then.
Doesn't feel exactly right but I'm thinking something like this:

The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt is part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival every year. While the prize can only go to one winner, The Allison Wonderland is dedicated to the community spirit of treasure hunting.
