And the answer is the Cattle Barn! This year marks the 100th birthday of the Cattle Barn on the fairgrounds. Adorned with small cattle silhouettes, the building can hold up to 1,000 head of cattle.

It's a monument to two volunteer infantries on Machinery Hill! A small boulder rests at the northeast corner of Cooper and Wright, with two plaques recalling the times in 1898 when regiments from Minnesota volunteered to fight in the war with Spain.
