Hey there Somersetans. Or is it Somersetites? Probably something French who knows? Anyway, there is good news and bad News .. the good news is there is a medallion hunt for Pea Soup Days. The Bad news is it's not hidden at Kwik Trip. The medallion probably has the same habit a lot of us have and is taking a break. Anyone ever been there 3 or more times in one day? Asking for a friend. Anyway, its nowhere near that side of town. Although the village is pretty small so that is subjective. It's on the other side of the river how's that? it's not hidden on the street either, too dangerous. And it's not hidden up high because obviously medallions can't climb. "For those of you that don't know me" (classic maid of honor speech intro) the medallion looks like a hockey puck with a pea soup days logo. It's pretty sweet no cap. Ask someone under 27 what "no cap" means. I had to google it to make sure I was using it right. Hunting hours and other regulations are in the Wisconsin medallion hunting guidelines book. JK, have a safe hunt.

Clue 2

Spring time is a fun time of year right? With the warmer weather it’s enjoyable to go on a medallion hunt. And with the mild winter it allowed folks to get around easier and scout. Walking by trees and looking at the ground for sign. And with the lack of snow, it allowed you to see the ground better than normal. keep your head down. Hopefully y’all didn’t spend too much time scouting the North side of town. The medallion isn’t going up north until maybe the 4th of July this year.

Clue 3

Ok if you are reading this you haven’t found the medallion yet. Try not to get too down about it. keep your head up. But if you do want to find it, you actually do need to keep your head down. Sorry for the confusion just trying to lift your spirits. I realize now that is contradictory. Maybe just grab some ice cream and take a walk downtown and you may get lucky not even thinking about it. Or sit on a bench and relax and clear your head. Or maybe take a bike ride. That can be very relaxing, and you can cover more ground on a bike.

Clue 4

Pea Soup Days is just around the corner folks. Pretty soon you'll be able to go to the park and grab some soup and go on a fun ride. Or...maybe wait to eat the soup until you are done with the rides. That's probably the safer bet. Before Pea Soup Days arrives, you still have time to look for the medallion in your spare time. Maybe grab some pizza at The Rendezvous & walk up to Oliphant for a refreshment afterwards. If you have your kids with you maybe find a spot where they can get their energy out. Or maybe you just want to have a picnic.

Clue 5

We made it!! It’s Pea Soup Days Week!! There is some unfinished business to attend to first. Whether you are late to the party or been on a month long adventure, it’s all the same. The medallion hasn’t been found yet. Now is your last chance. Some of the best hunts are those that end with a big harvest right before the season ends. So grab a Cuban wrap from Not Justa, go downtown and find the park. Walk around the border of the playground. You may have to move some rocks around. The prize awaits you if you don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty. Remember to keep your head down.
